Happy Valentines Day

Well so really for us it is not Valentine's Day in Brazil, but we celebrated it. Louis and I made these delicious cookies and Mike came home with these Beautiful flowers.

Louis and I have so much fun down at the pool and today was a great day to be in the sun. It was my first taste at the Brazilian sun...HOT, HOT, HOT...we had to stay in the pool just to keep our bodies cool from the sun. Also so Louis could play with the cute girls who love to play with him.

To end my wonderful day was my husband that came home to take us out to Omatuto (Brazilian Churrascaria) my favorite. It was delicious and I missed it so much when I was back in the states. I can say there will be few things that I miss about Brazil when we leave.

Wii Party

Dance OFF!!!!!

Well we have been enjoying the Wii since we have gotten home. Last weekend we had a Wii Party with some of our friends. It was so much fun. We had gotten Dance Off with our Wii so we had dance offs!!! It was so much fun I am looking forward to the next one.

Louis Turns 2

Louis had such a great birthday this year. Thank you so much for Grandma and all of the aunts to help put everything together. Mike and I have made it a tradition that we make the birthday cakes. So we thought we would make our difficulty level a little higher then last year. I think when I get back to California I need to take a cake assembling class. We were quite proud of how the cake turned out. We started making in at 7:00pm and finally got finished and went to be at 3:00am. It was worth it.

Yes that is me in the very back. We took Grandma Olson home and I rode there until we dropped her off. Louis loved riding with Abbey, Austin, and Taylor.

For the rest of the time we were at my moms when he would get in her car he would look in the back and ask for the three of them. It was so funny, he thought they were always there.

When we are in town I always try to head up to Blackfoot, ID to see my Grandpa Chris. This time was lots of fun we were all there except for Chris. Grandpa always makes us a really good dinner. He is a potato farmer and a cattle rancher so we usually have roast and potatoes, So yummy!!!

His two sons, our uncles, live up there with him so it is always good to see them too. It is the ultimate bachelor pad up there!!!!

Merry Christmas 2010

Louis and I had so much fun this holiday season we were able to see both grandparents and help Grandma Sharon decorate her house for the holidays. Louis was at such a great age. He was excited over everything. This year he was able to receive his elf and we named him Buddy. Every morning while we were eating breakfast he would remember that we had to find him.

Well Mike finally made to Utah and Louis and I were so excited to see him. Right after he got in we all headed up to Idaho. We were able to spend Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma Montgomery and we had so much fun. Louis loved being with cousins 24/7. Louis had so much fun getting new toys from santa and grandma's and grandpa's. His favorite thing was all of his animals he got in his stocking (lion, tiger, zebra, horse, and elephant) and his little Thomas the train and track. Mom and Dad were so excited to get the Wii from Grandma and Grandpa Montgomery, it will give us hours of fun. Our gift from Grandma Sharon and Papa Dave was an Ice Cream Maker, it is put in storage, but I cannot wait to get back to use it.

Making Chocolates and The Gingerbread House

So Grandma Olson has been making chocolats for Christmas for years. I have helped her a few years so she headed to my mom's to stay for the weekend. I was the longest two day of chocolate dipping I have ever done. We would start at 8:00am and finish around 10:00pm for two days straight. It is fun though to do it all together and learn her tricks from making the candy to dipping the chocolates. Hayley came over to get in on the action this was her first time to get in on the action and see how it is done. Abbey and Taylor also had fun helping. Austin just enjoyed eating!!! (as did all of us)

This is where I was most of the time. Grandma Sharon and G.O. would prep the centers and I would stand there and dip. Best idea ever by my mom was to melt the chocolate in the the crokpot.

Happy Thanksgiving

Louis and I headed back to Utah for the holidays. Mike was going to be really busy with work in December so we left to go to Grandma Sharon's for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to be with family for Thanksgiving, but Louis and I sure did miss dadddy!!

I also left my camera in Brazil so here are a few pictures my mom took of everyone. After dinner was over and everyone was settled down. My mom started a new tradition to give the grandkids Christmas pajamas on Thanksgiving so they can wear them throughout the month of December. They all loved them.

Happy Halloween

We were a Batman/Cat family this year for Halloween. I tried to get mike to dress up by putting a Batman mask on and I think he held it the whole time. But we had a ward halloween party that had a d.j. and food. It was a lot of fun. Louis was the cutest little batman.

Adventure #1: Iguazu Falls and Rio de Janeiro

We had so much fun with Grandma Sharon and Papa Dave they came in October to see us and to check out Brazil. I am glad to say I wore them out and that is hard to do. We had one week with Dave to go and see the sites and Grandma stayed behind another week to hang out with Louis and I.

So the 1st on our agenda was to fly to Iguazu Falls. We only had one full day there to see the falls and they were beautiful. 2nd was to head to Rio for the rest of the week. There we saw Pao de Acucar (Sugar Loaf) and the Cristus (Statue of Christ). Then it was back to Campinas for a day and then Papa headed home. Everything was so beautiful and it was an amazing experience to get to see more of Brazil and what is has to offer.

Some of the highlights of our trip was when we were in Iguazu Falls we decided to take the boat ride in and around the falls along with walking around them. The whole day it had rained on us, so by the time we had got to do the boat ride it was the end of our day. Louis was soaked along with all of us. Louis had fallen asleep on the bus ride down to the boats, so I thought no problem I can get his life jacket on and he will stay asleep for the boat right....wrong he woke up as we were getting suited up to get on the boat. He was ok getting on the boat and putting the life jacket on and then we started to head up towards the falls and that is when it turned bad. We were driving into the rain and driving up massive rapids on the river. We had to shield Louis so he would not get even more wet and so the rain would not hurt his face and he did not like that at all. Grandma and Grandpa sat in front of us on the boat and mind you we are the only one on the boat right (that should of been clue #1) So the turn around to talk to Louis and all he could do was look up just a little bit and give them a crusty. He had that look on his face the entire time. He was so made that we would do that to him. Sorry Louis mom was not thinking that taking 1yr on a speed/raft boat in the rain was probably not the best mom decision I have ever made. We survived and it was really fun and a great experience.

Well I am trying in the best effort to do a little catch up on the blog.

Here is Louis at the Park trying to get the guts to go down the slide.

Louie always has to get in on the action on whatever is going on so he decided to hop in and have a pedicure just like mommy was doing.

He love forts so every once in a while I will set one up and let him watch a movie. This day dad came home for lunch and joined in on the fun.

Baby Powder!!!!

So this truck was brought into while I was on the computer....I think something happened???

So I go to the living room and this is what I found...do you think he had fun!!!!

So do I get mad because I was the one that left the baby powder bottle on the floor??

No I gave him some toys and opened his closet for his books and shut the door that goes to the hallway so I could clean everything up.

(Next thought) Where do I begin???

1) Well if you sweep the dust just flys all over.

2) I do not have a vacum (this would be the best option)

3) So I am left with mopping 3-4 times until it has soaked up the water and I can mop it away.

Half way through my mopping process he started to knock on the door to come out to the living room. So then he got moved to the balcony where he could he see me and poke his head in and say MOM!!! But I have to say he listens to me pretty well and he stayed on the balcony with only a few times with only a few steps inside the doorway.

Nemo Obsession

Louis's favorite movie is Finding Nemo yesterday he was lucky enough to get to watch it twice. After we came in from playing in the morning he handed me the box and had these eyes like please say yes mom. So I set up a cushy spot for him to watch and he fell asleep in no time.

As you can tell in this picture Lou loves to have his clothes off. So he is trying to figure out how to either 1)keep his hand warm or 2) take his diaper off!!!
The other night I was attempting to make rolls. Louis was getting hungry so I just feed him in the kitchen while I kept doing my rolls. Lets just say that was not an easy clean up night for me!! He had spaghetti and the sauce was all over my floors and cabinets, but he had fun hanging out with mom and making a mess with me.

I definitely have hit a block in new things to cook for dinner. Also the bad part is not being able to find the spices or basic sauces I need. So I have been learning to make alot of sauces from scratch and Louis is my stirrer. Mike could not get a shot with his eyes open and this was the best one I love his face.

Just Playing Around

Mike came home today from his training that was out of town all week. So Louis was helping me unpack his suitcase and when I got all done he climbed inside and said bye bye. Guess he is off next!!!

Here are some of Louis's other favorite things to do around the house!!

1) Put on daddy's shoes when he gets home from work.

2) Climb in the cleaning closet. He found his little hide out. He really likes to go in there while I am cooking so he can play and be in eye view of me.

Well my birthday this year was quite a good one. I got to spend it with new friends and my wonderful family. First I was taken to lunch by group of wonderful ladies in our new ward. Then that night Mike took me out to dinner and brought home this delicious cake!!!

New Bed is a Success!!

Well I got this picture this afternoon when he went down for his nap. He loves his new bed. We have not had any problems with him climbing out so far. He knows he can climb in and out but when we put him down he stays put. Today was our first go at the naps the other days he has fallen asleep either in the car or in the stroller and then we move him to his bed. He wanted his book, so I just handed it to him and figured he could look at it until he got sleepy and he did.

My new favorite part of putting him to sleep is tucking him in like a big boy and then he waves to me bye, bye so I will leave and he can go to sleep.

Well it is here and put together. Louis has a new big boy bed!!! Tonight will be the first night and I took down the portable crib that he has been sleeping in so he does not have the option. He seems really excited right now, but we will see when bed time rolls around!!

Louis always watches the big kids playing on their bikes downstairs and wants to get one so bad. So Mike and I went shopping last night and found a really good deal on this little trike. He is so excited, he played with it all night after dad got it put together and first thing when he woke up he went and climbed on.

I have been taking Louis down to the pool to stick his feet in the water and to play. This day we had a picnic down at the pool and he loved it. As you can tell in the second picture he has a full belly....just perfect to go and put him down for his nap.

Here is Louis and Gigi playing in the dishwasher slot. We are so grateful to have found good friends. They came over one night and helped us put up our oven vent and then Louis and Gigi had so much playing both of them were crying when it was time for them to leave. Louis is in love with Gigi's mom, Lilian, he would not let go of her and he was crying all the way back up to our apartment after we walked them out.

We have loved being in our new home. Louis and I really love all the fun stuff to do that is just an elevator ride away. All the kids who live in the building have already meet Louis and love him. So he always chases the older kids around just wants to be a part of the pack. He also loves watching them play soccer. He just wishes he was old enough to play with them. Well Aunt Katie brought this cute Argentine Jersey home from her adventure to the middle east so only fitting that Louis wore it when him and dad watched the game together. Yes we have the necessities in our apartment the T.V. and Yes that is Mike sitting in the car seat. Yes Louis is saying give me my chair back dad it is MINE!!!!

Lagoa do Taquaral

They have a huge lake in the city that has a walking trail around it. In the beginning it also has a little zoo with different types of birds and other little animals. It was a pretty walk, around the whole lake it is about 3 miles.

This is me at the end so I know I look awesome. I was a hot day when we went.

They have peddle boats to go around the lake. Get ready Mom and Janis I will be taking you!!!

I made Mike take this picture it reminded me of the father in Kung Fu Panda.

They had a huge fake snake the wound through this grove of trees.

The best part of the whole day was when we could not find a taxi to take us back to our hotel. So there we went for the long journey home in the heat. It was not as bad as I thought, but Mike said I looked dead when we got home.

Brazilian Rodeo

One of Mike's coworkers invited us to go to the Rodeo (Hodeo is how it is pronounced here). We had so much fun, but definitely no the place for kids, but of course like always Lou was getting everyone's attention.

Here we are getting dinner. You sat down and order like a restaurant, high class rodeo for me!!

They had a ton of animals to see. You could hold the snake but all of us opted out of that one so I had to take the picture with a random person.

The cattle here is massive. At first I thought it was fake and we got closer and it was real. You could even sit on them if you wanted too.

And they also had miniature size ones. Just for Louis he sat on it for two seconds and got freaked out. So I missed the shot.

This was the real one that I thought was fake.

BIG 30!!!

(it has arrived)

Well Mike had his 30th birthday in Brazil. What an adventure trying to make that happen. It was Mike's first day of work so Louis and I were on our own the find a cake and a present for daddy!!! First we headed out to find Dad's cake. The hotel manager speaks english very well so headed me in the direction of a bakery. So Louis and I headed off up the road. We get to the bakery and the ladies were really nice and did not speak any english and I did not speak a lick of portuguese. So after about 10mins of trying to get a cake picked out and trying to explain that it was for my husbands birthday. I thought I was set and they would deliver the cake at 4:00. After that I headed to Carrefour(the grocery store) bought Mike his very first set of Havanas(brazilian flip flops) and candles for the cake I ordered. I thought when I got back to the hotel I should check to make sure I got the right cake order so I had the hotel manager Douglas call the bakery and double check my order and that it would be delivered. And this is what I ordered.....A cake I was not sure what kind and for 30 people and they do not deliver. Douglas was very helpful at getting my mess all cleared up and I actually got to choose the cake.

Mike got home and we had a great celebration. We went to the hotel restaurant for dinner and Louis was out of control, but Mike thoroughly enjoyed himself he had two steaks two huge side dish of rices and half of my hamburger and only to his surprise there was a delicious chocolate cake waiting for him upstairs in our room.

(I thought I ordered Blackberries...guess Cherries will due)

Louis had been waiting for the chocolate cake all day. Jean Skyped us during the day and I pulled out to show her and when I put it back in the fridge we had a complete melt down.

WE MADE IT!!!

Well we made the journey. After Louis getting everything possible before we left (pink eye, croup, two ear infections...just to name a few) He slept most of the way on the long flight and no one around seemed annoyed so I thought it was a good journey.

We have looked at a few apartments and got a few other things done. Today has been a bank holiday so we were not able to take care of anything. So we just hung out and walked around our little neighbor hood we are in. There is a park just across the street from our hotel so we took louis to play.

Here we are in the Salt Lake airport beginning our journey to Brazil. Thanks to Mom and Dave for getting us ready and hauling all of our stuff up to the airport. We had ten big bags in total. What will we do when we get there????

Once again I did not take enough pictures but Mike parents drove down the weekend we left and said goodbye to us it was so good to see them one last time.

6 Weeks at Grandma's....

We had so much fun with family, but I wish I would of taken more pictures. We went to Boise for a weekend and Louis had so much fun with his cousins Trey and Brookey. Then another weekend we got to see Papa Drakos and then headed up to Jason and Mary's. Louis loved their big dog and playing with the boys. Mike got them all rawled up as usual.

Well on the few sunny days we had we loved having grandma's backyard. Thanks mom and Dave for putting up with us for this long and making us feel at home.

One day while Mike was mowing the lawn I finally pulled out some of Louis's toys and he was so happy to find this one, but all he wanted to do was have Mike or I push his on the drive way.

Well Aunt Lynsi had her baby early which we were happy about so one day I went up to help her and G.G. came up also so here she is entertaining Louis.

San Francisco Zoo

We want to make sure to see the zoo before we left the city. I am so glad that we did. I was an amazing zoo. I have never seen a real lion with a mane like this before. Louis had so much fun in the kids area you can pet sheep, goats, and feed the ducks walking around this big barn area.

We are really going to miss California we have loved living here.

Girls Day In The City

Liz and I took a pamper day in the city!!! It was great to get Mani's and Pedi's. Louis got to spend some time with some friends. He had so much fun He ate a some treats in the car and crashed on the 5 min. ride home!!!

We had so much fun from decorating the cake to opening the presents. Louis loved his football destroy cake, he almost ate half of it. Mike I think was the most excited about decorating the cake with the 49er's theme.

Louis had a wonderful first Christmas. He loved having all of his cousins around to play with and he loved getting all of his new toys. I was so good to be able to see all of our family. Family Visiting

First we had Lynsi and Grady surprise us for a weekend visit. It was so much fun. We took them to half moon bay and Mike was so excited he finally got someone out to go golfing with him. Lynsi froze up in half moon bay for dinner so we had to dig the beach towel out of the car. Louis loved having a buddy in the back of the car too. He would just sit there and stare at Lynsi.

Then Grandma and Grandpa came to take us to the Utah game against San Jose State. While they were here I tried to find something close to home that we have not done yet and I found Filoli Mansion and Gardens. It is an old estate that is now kind of a museum. They have beautiful gardens that just keep going.

Mike finally got to take his parental leave and first on our trip away was Utah for the baby blessing and then we went to Yosemite on the way home with Grandma Sharon and Papa Dave. It was so much fun and it was definitely an adventure. On the drive there we were all excited to drive a new way none of us had gone and it would cut out a few hours of our drive. And yes it was to good to be true. As soon as we got to the pass to cut into Yosemite National Park the ROAD was CLOSED. Seasonal road that did not open until (yes) the next week. We were a week to early to do the pass. So after a half hour stop trying to figure out where we would go next we drove to Tahoe that seemed like another six hours after already doing ten to eleven. Louis was a champ. I do not think he has slept more in his whole life. So we lost a day, but it was beautiful and it was country that we would of never seen and probably will never see again.

Louis's Blessing

So I was a horrible mom and we did not get any pictures of the three of us right after the blessing. We had family pictures right after at my moms house and it was crazy so these are the pictures I have of our trip to Utah and some the photographer got.

At the end of the trip Gabby gave Louis her bottles because she is a big girl now and she got her first sippy cups!!

Here is Louie's first Easter. More than half of the stuff in the basket was more for dad (candy, and toys) I just liked the basket. It is so fun being a mom now Mike does not get mad when I buy this stuff now!!!!

Our Chunkey Monkey Update

Our friends have the cutest little dog. They came over last weekend for dinner and a movie. So they brought Abbey with them.

Today we went for a walk and Louis just conked out so to keep him asleep I put him in his swing and I thought he looked so cute. I love his Levi jacket.

Louis's Hospital Trip

Louis got one of the many bugs going around this flu season. So when they are so little they made him stay in the hospital for at least 48hrs. to make sure it was not something more serious that just a cold, but that is all it was. So here are so pictures of his visit. He absolutely hated the arm band to keep his arm straight for the I.V.

When we got home he got to do his favorite thing in the world...Bath time. He is always so happy when he gets a bath.

Hayley and Abbey's Visit

This was our Valentines Day!!!
Aunt Hayley and Cousin Abbey were in town so we had so much fun. Abbey's school class was decorating sugar cookies that she was missing out on because she came to San Francisco to see her new cousin Louis. So we had to make sugar cookies and decorate them. We had a blast!!!!

Aunt Hayley had the big 30 when she was out to visit. So I had asked her husband Tom what her favorite food was and he said Mexican. So my plan was to find a fun restaurant in the city and take her out, but it was rainy and cold so we went shopping all day long in Gilroy and then to her for Californian Mexican (dirty and authentic)!! So here are Hayley's dirty nachos. The place I found is actually my new favorite Mexican restaurant out here. So thanks Hayley.

Well I hope Abbey had fun with Louis out here she was a big help to me and Louis loved snuggling up to her. Every time he would cry Abbey would say "Our alarm is going off", and when we would stick his pacifier in she would say "Where is the snooze button". Thanks Abbey for all you help I loved having come to visit.

Austin I am excited for you to come next time Louis can't wait for you to come and through the football with him!!!

Well I know everyone has been waiting for the pictures of our little early bird. I am finally in some sort of routine so I have time to sit down without falling asleep to get this put up. So sorry about the wait.

Louis was five weeks early and he wanted to be just like his dad and be a little Idaho boy. So he decided to come while we were Boise for Christmas.

Well we finally got our family car so that means we had to get rid of little blackie. Mike posted it on craigslist on Saturday morning and by that afternoon we had her sold. It has been a great car and I know Mike was kind of sad. So here is her final farwell.

We were so excited for yesterday. I could hardly sleep the night before I was so nervous and then it was time to go. We finally found out what sex our baby was. There was no question it is a baby boy in there. He was more than willing to show us too.

I was so excited I finally could go buy something for the baby. So I headed out and found some really cute stuff. So when Mike got home I put one of the outfits in a bag and told him it was from me and his baby boy. His face just lighten up and he was really excited so I took a picture. Mike is going to be a great father and I am so excited to have our little boy!!!

Orange Walnut Chicken

So Mike schedule has been great for the both of us he has been able to come home around dinner time and that gives him time to do his favorite thing STUDY!!!!
So I have finally been cooking for the both of us and my mother-in-law gave me a big stack of recipes before we left Boise and this one is my favorite one that I have cooked so far.

Orange Walnut Chicken
3T. Orange Juice Concentrate
3T. Vegetable oil (divided)
1T. Soy Sauce
4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast
1/2C. Coarsely Chopped Walnuts
1T. Butter
4 Green Onions thinly sliced (divided)
1/2C. Orange Marmalade
1/2C. Orange Juice
1/4C. Lemon Juice
2T. Honey
1T. Orange peel
2T. Lemon peel
1/2t. Salt
1/8t. Pepper
Put over Hot cooked Rice

In a large resealable plastic beg, combine orange juice concentrated, 2T. oil, soy sauce and garlic. Add chicken; seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours or overnight.
Remove chicken; reserve marinade. In a skillet, cook chicken in remaining oil until juices run clear. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, saute walnuts in butter until lightly browned; remove and set aside. Set aside 1/4C. green onions for garnish. Add remaining onions to saucepan; saute until tender. Add reserved marinade and the next eight ingredients. Bring to a rolling boil; boil for 2 mins. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5-10 mins. or until sauce reaches desired consistency. Serve chicken over rice; top with sauce and reserved walnuts and onions.

This was so good so I hope you guys try and enjoy!!!

Mike and I were so excited to get out of town this past week and just have a little fun together and the best part is that we got to spend time with both families so it was great.
We first got to Boise and had a great weekend with them so here are a few pictures so you can see the fun!!!!

Crazy Life

Well I am not a big fan of just writing to tell you what has been going on in our lives but we have not been doing anything fun but working.
Mike has been in a conference room for about 15hrs a day and I have been driving back and forth between my now two properties that I manage. I still nanny and do hair also on top of that. It is defiantly a CRAZY, BUSY LIFE!!!
Coming soon will be some pictures of the property where we live and the one I just took over. I know so exciting, but I am proud because the apartments are getting filled pretty fast yeah play time might be coming sooner that I thought.
Here is a little more on Mike he finally got a standing ovation award. It is defiantly well deserved and long over due for all of the hours he puts in.

Easter weekend was so much fun my mom's birthday was on the 21st so I flew in and suprised her for her birthday. It was so much fun and Dave did a wonderful job getting us all together. Thanks Dave :)
Easter Sunday was my neice Taylor's birthday so Hayley put together a great birthday/easter party for the family on Saturday. It was so good to see everyone.
The Same weekend was Dave's and Justin first weekend in the world finals for Chariot racing so I hung out all day on sunday up at the track with my mom (she loves it when she has someone to hang out with)!!! It was a great weekend to go home.
